About me
Designer, developer & son of a printer.
My story
I'm a British born designer who has called Australia home since 2006. I studied graphic design at Manchester Metropolitan University and started out at UK agencies before joining Associated New Media in London, designing for the Daily Mail, Evening Standard and Metro.
In Sydney I spent five years as Senior Designer and Front End Developer at The Dubs, working with clients like Telstra, Channel 10, ING Direct and BHP. I then freelanced across many of Sydney and Melbourne's digital agencies, before taking on in house roles at Vodafone, Qantas, Fame & Partners and Selz.
For the last seven years I was Creative Lead and UI/UX Designer at Galilee Solicitors and The Law Store, where I designed two digital platforms, Livesign and Zettle, from the ground up.
How I work
Good design connects what the business needs, what the technology allows and what people actually want to do. I'm comfortable with complex requirements and enjoy turning them into clear journeys and design systems that a team can build with confidence.
Because I've worked as a designer, a front end developer and a creative lead, I understand what happens after a design leaves Figma. And as the son of a printer, I still have a soft spot for getting print exactly right.
What I'm looking for
I'm keen to keep growing as a leader in a collaborative team, bringing my experience to the table while helping the people around me do their best work.
Outside work
My partner Andrea and I live in Kiama with our two boys, Jack and Evan. We're happiest at the beach, and you'll find us surfing, at live music, watching football or, thanks to the boys, at the monster trucks.
When I get time to myself, it's a few hours on the golf course or a game of football with my local team.
